Set up above the river and built into the cliff face, it's one of those properties that stands out from the water as much as it does from the street.

Saunders Street already has a reputation as one of Perth’s most prestigious addresses.

According to reiwa.com data, the street was recognised as Perth’s most expensive street in 2025, with an average sale price of $10.25 million.

And now, one of its most recognisable homes is back on the market.

The estate at 43 Saunders Street, Mosman Park, listed by REIWA member Vivien Yap, sits on 7,565sqm of Swan River frontage and includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a three-car garage.

It last sold in 2009 to Mineral Resources executive Chris Ellison for $57.5 million, a figure that still stands as WA’s most expensive sale.

Set high above the river and built into the Mosman Park cliff face, it is one of those properties that stands out from the water as much as it does from the street. Its scale is part of what makes it so distinctive – not just the size of the house, but the size of the block and the rarity of the waterfront position.

Beyond the front gates, a long tree-lined drive passes the separate gate house before arriving at the main residence. There is also a guest house, which gives the property the feel of an estate rather than a single home.

It includes a three-storey main residence, a gate house and a guest house, but it is the main home that immediately sets the tone. The entry opens to a dramatic foyer with a glass-domed ceiling, a sweeping marble and wrought iron staircase, a glass lift and a koi pond below.

That elegance carries through the main living spaces.

Marble floors, oak doors with timber inlays and burl wood joinery feature throughout, while large windows and balconies make the most of the river, bushland and cliff views. On the upper floor, the kitchen, dining and living areas open to a wraparound balcony overlooking the water.

The lower level takes it to a whole new level.

This part of the home is more relaxed and clearly geared towards entertaining, with a media room, bar, alfresco kitchen and direct connection to the indoor pool pavilion. The pool area includes a main pool, spa and children’s splash pool, giving it more of a retreat feel than the standard home.

But the waterfront elements are what really set it apart. The boathouse is built into the cliff face and includes lift access down to the boat ramp and private jetty, while the grounds also feature a series of garden pavilions, tennis court, mature trees and a large lawn.
