After looking for a career change, Merete completed her Property Management course at REIWA and was certified where she settled in as Property Manager in the South Perth team.
Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Merete worked as Project Administrator, HR Consultant, Assistant Contracts Administrator and Asset Secretary in the Oil and Gas industry over the last 20 years. With a Bachelor of Commerce in Management after studying part time for 8 years she was also working full time and being a wife and a mother of 2 very ambitious dedicated sport active children. Little did she know during this challenging time she was also gaining the skills for the multitasking and fast paced industry that is Property Management.
Merete's favourite part of the role is how no two days are alike and you are constantly on the move doing house inspections, negotiating terms between parties, being a listener, diplomat and problem solver. Her ability to develop solid relationships with tenants, owners and suppliers allows Merete to perform and deliver a top class Property Management service.
Merete describes RMA as one of the best work places she has ever worked for. Her colleagues are supportive, patient, friendly and willing to help. Most of all she feels the teamwork spirit that exists is second to none.
When she's not managing her portfolio of clients, Merete is on the committee at the Scandinavian Association of WA where she serves as committee member and Chief Editor of the bi-monthly newsletter Scanpost. She also spends her time volunteering at her daughter’s rhythmic sport gymnastic club during competitions. She also knows her way around the golf course being a very proficient golf player, in fact if she had not left Denmark she would most likely have pursued a career in pro golfing.
