"WA’s real estate industry has come together to celebrate REIWA’s annual Awards for Excellence, which recognise and promote excellence for the state’s real estate practitioners."
Western Australia’s real estate industry has come together to celebrate REIWA’s annual Awards for Excellence, which recognise and promote excellence for the state’s real estate practitioners.
REIWA CEO Cath Hart said the prestigious Awards recognised the ‘best of the best’ in WA real estate.
“The Awards for Excellence are the highest accolades bestowed by REIWA across all aspects of the real estate sector from residential to commercial operations, individuals to agencies,” she said.
“This year, 23 awards were presented, including the prestigious Kevin Sullivan Memorial Award, which was awarded to Hayden Groves of Dethridge Groves Real Estate*.
“The Awards are hotly contested and reflect the exceptional standards demonstrated by REIWA members in both residential and commercial real estate.
“These awards go beyond sales transactions or the size of rent rolls and celebrate outstanding real estate professionals whose exemplary professional conduct sets the gold standard for practitioners in Western Australia.
“There were a record number of submissions this year and the winners have set new benchmarks for professionalism and strong client outcomes, consistently meeting market challenges with innovative solutions.
“On behalf of the Institute, I would like to congratulate the winners of the 2024 REIWA Awards for Excellence and thank them for raising the bar for our industry.”
The 2024 Awards for Excellence winners will be eligible to represent WA at the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA)’s 2025 National Awards for Excellence in South Australia next May, marking the 20th anniversary of the event.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Kevin Sullivan Memorial Award, which recognised Hayden Groves, Principal of Ray White Dethridge Groves (formerly Dethridge Groves Real Estate) for his outstanding commitment to WA’s real estate industry for more than 25 years.
Established in 1989, the Kevin Sullivan Memorial Award is the Institute’s highest individual honour with recipients solely nominated and decided upon by REIWA Council.
REIWA President Suzanne Brown said Mr Groves had a longstanding history of service at a national and state level.
“Hayden served on the REIA Board as President from 2021-2023 and Deputy President from 2014-2021. He was REIWA President from 2015-2018 and a REIWA Councillor from 2010-2022,” Ms Brown said.
“He is a passionate advocate for our industry, having represented the concerns of the industry to government and in the media throughout his terms as president of REIA and REIWA.
“On behalf of REIWA Council, I’d like to congratulate Hayden on receiving this most distinguished award.”
The Kevin Sullivan Memorial Award was last presented in 2022 to former REIWA CEO Neville Pozzi.
