• In the Community

Proudly Western Australian, REIWA members are active in our communities and committed to supporting the well-being, growth and development of our state.

    About Community REInvest

Established in 2013, Community REInvest is a philanthropic program facilitated by REIWA through which real estate agents identify opportunities, mobilise resources and support the people of WA, particularly those experiencing homelessness.

REIWA and its members believe it’s important to be actively involved and help local WA communities by giving something back.

By forming close and productive partnerships with established and trusted organisations at a statewide and local level, REIWA agents focus on key areas of need and collectively help through fundraising, volunteering and delivery of services.

REIWA's current Community REInvest partnership with The Salvation Army (established in 2013) assists REIWA agents to provide support to help the Salvos continue their vital work in WA, particularly in response to homelessness.

If you'd like to help out those sleeping rough on our streets, please consider donating. By doing so, you’ll be helping the Salvos provide much-needed services to those in need such as meals, accommodation and crisis counselling.

REIWA is also pleased to announce that it has recently established a Community REInvest initiative to support the 2021 Ride Against Domestic Violence.

A team of four riders, captained by REIWA President Damian Collins, will champion this two-day ride to raise awareness in the community of the nature and scale of family and domestic violence in Western Australia and promote consideration of what changes could be made to lessen the impacts of family and domestic violence.

    Ride Against Domestic Violence

As part of the Community REInvest initiative, REIWA has put together a cycling team to take part will be participating in the 2021 Ride Against Domestic Violence, an annual charity event where participants cycle from Busselton to Perth.

The purpose of the ride is to raise funds for refuges in Western Australia for women and their children experiencing family and domestic violence. The event also aims to raise awareness in the community of the nature and scale of family and domestic violence and promote consideration of what changes we as a community can make to combat this scourge.

Competing in this year’s ride on behalf of the Institute is REIWA President Damian Collins (team captain), Councillor Hayden Groves and members Kelly Duncan and Sarah Mahony. They have been braving the terrible weather to train for the 200km ride which starts on 10 September and hope the REIWA membership will get right behind them to raise as much as they can for such an important cause!

    Annual Christmas Appeal

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our WA communities, many West Australians are experiencing various forms of hardship. From unemployment to family and domestic violence and homelessness. Now, more than ever, the Salvos need our help each year to spread some cheer at Christmas time.

We are aware of the importance of staying safe and socially distanced so we now conduct our Christmas appeal online. We invite our Community REInvest sponsors to participate, as well as all our members and the public to get behind this initiative.

By fundraising instead of providing physical gifts and provisions, the Salvos allow their clients the dignity of choosing presents and festive goodies for themselves.

Online donations can be made in the weeks leading up to Christmas via REIWA's fundraising page which is activated in mid-November each year.
