On the edge of Ravensthorpe’s welcoming townsite, where the horizon stretches wide and the air carries that unmistakable scent of eucalyptus and earth, lies 4.65 acres of possibility. An original mines lease, freeholded in 1933, this is the kind of place where sunrises feel personal and the rural outlook rolls on in soft greens and golden light. Fenced and boundary-marked, with a pretty, natural landscape that speaks of quiet freedom, this parcel of land invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and imagine the life you’ve always promised yourself.
There’s an old derelict humpy standing as a gentle nod to stories past, a rainwater tank already in situ and a winter soak/dam, and space — glorious space — to build the home you’ve sketched a hundred times in your heart. Close enough to town for a morning coffee, yet edging natural bushland perfect for long walks and wandering thoughts, this is where convenience meets country calm. It’s the great Australian dream laid out before you — room for a veggie patch, a shed, a dog that runs free, and evenings under a sky full of stars.
They say, “Buy dirt, find the one you can't live without,” and here the dirt is rich with promise. Promise of a home shaped by your hands, a life lived a little slower, and memories made in open air. If you’ve been waiting for the right piece of earth — something real, something grounding — this is your moment to claim it and create your own rural haven on the edge of town.

The townsite of Ravensthorpe is located in the south coastal region, 541 kilometres east southeast of Perth and 50 kilometres north northwest of the coastal town of Hopetoun. The Ravensthorpe region was first settled by the Dunn brothers in the 1860's, and it was James Dunn who first found gold in the area in 1899. Gold mining in the area was not very productive until a new find in 1900 resulted in rapid growth.
Ravensthorpe was gazetted a townsite in January 1901, the name having been suggested by surveyor A.W. Canning after the nearby Ravensthorpe Range. The Ravensthorpe Range was named by Surveyor General J.S. Roe in 1848 in honour of Bishop Augustus Short who, prior to becoming Bishop of WA & SA in 1847, had been the Vicar of Ravensthorpe in Northamptonshire (England) from June 1835. Bishop Short is also commemorated by Mt Short, a hill in the Ravensthorpe Range.
