Is your paradise found?

Is your paradise found? These small rural bushland parcels at Valentines Falls Estate are highly sought after, with only four of these gorgeous vacant bush-blocks making it to the market in the last 5 years.

Kununurra's newest subdivision has been developing into one of the best small local rural locations in town. Adjacent to the Lower Ord River, with Barra Fishing at the rapids just a few hundred meters from your door and only 13km from the town centre, this is a chance to move into a rural communities for families that don't have millions to spend on a larger and harder to manage ex-horticulture farms. The land is natural bushland, never farmed and retains its native trees and remains home to its populations of birdlife and wallabies.

Easy to develop, easy to look after and easy to live with. This east-facing block is perfectly oriented to catch the sunrise from your front door and the incredible East Kimberley sunsets from your back patio.

The subdivision has sealed roads, modern drainage (no flood risks), power to the gate, and walking access to the stunning Valentine Falls rapids - a favoured spot to flick a line in.

If you've been looking for an opportunity to make your move to nature, this is it!

Kununurra overview

The townsite of Kununurra is located in the Kimberley region in the extreme northeast of the state, 3214 kilometres from Perth. When the Ord River Irrigation scheme was being planned in the 1950s a townsite was included in the proposed development. Amongst other submissions of Aboriginal names put forward for the new townsite being created in the vicinity of the Ord River Dam was "Cununurra", said to mean "black soil" and to be the Aboriginal name for the Ord River according to Mary Durack. A Mr. Lewis of the Public Works Department reported that a soil survey undertaken in 1954 had disclosed that 99 per cent of the land to be irrigated from the dam was composed of "cununurra clay". This name was not favoured by the Postmaster-General's Department because of its similarity to place names in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. However, to compromise, that department suggested adopting the spelling, "Kununurra", this version being approved in March 1960. The townsite was gazetted in 1961.
