Affordable Quiet Living

This lovely home with two bedrooms and a sleepout offers a great opportunity to enter the property market without breaking the bank. The front porch has been semi enclosed to provide a private area for your morning coffee or the afternoon beverage. The lounge has lovely wooden floors and has a tile fire to keep you warm in the winter. In addition to the lounge room, bedrooms, and sleepout there is also the kitchen dining room and a bathroom containing shower and toilet. There is a mix of exposed wood floorboards and vinyl floorcovering throughout the home.
At the back of the home is a separate laundry which doubles as a storeroom or small workshop and has a second outdoor toilet alongside. The back yard is an open space with some young fruit trees and a structure that could be converted to a chook yard or shade house for your vegie garden. With vacant property on either side, this property offers an opportunity for quiet living at an affordable price.

Tambellup overview

The townsite of Tambellup is located in the Great Southern Agricultural region, 317 kilometres south east of Perth and 23 kilometres south of Broomehill. The area around Tambellup was first settled by pastoralists in the late 1840s, and in 1849 the Surveyor General, John Septimus Roe, when passing through the area, referred to Morrison's south west station at "Tambul-yillup". The area was later settled by the Norrish family, and the spelling commonly used for the place then was "Tambellelup". When the Great Southern Railway was opened in 1889 a station was established at Tambellup, and it appears that the shortened version of the name was created by the railway, as the timetable in 1889 uses the Tambellup spelling. Tambellup was gazetted a townsite in 1899. The meaning of this Aboriginal name is not known, although one source gives it as "place of thunder"(from Toombellanup).
