Indulge your flights of fancy with this sweet 1930s home absolutely loaded with original features. It’s on a HUGE block of 971sqm with sweeping views, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a character canvas to create your dream forever abode. Meanwhile, it’s liveable as it is, so you can move in and get comfy in your new nest (maybe get out the paintbrush and whack in an Ikea kitchen) while dreaming of your grand design. There’s even a side studio complete with a kitchenette, bathroom, and living space, so you can live on-site while work is being done. Nifty! The studio would also make excellent private living quarters for extended family members, an independent teenager, or long term guests.
But back to those original features: high, ornate ceilings, rustic jarrah floorboards, picture rails, leadlights, a cosy tuckpointed fireplace, and a lovely big verandah out the front. All wonderful, and all worth holding onto. But best of all is the rear elevation. With a 180° treetop vista, this birds eye view couldn’t be better - unless you’re sharing it with loved ones. Revamp the enclosed patio (or demo and build your dream two-storey extension*) and family and visitors alike will flock to it for years to come, sharing happy moments and creating lasting memories. The big backyard has grapevines plus established trees that include an avocado and fig, so if ever you’re feeling peckish you only have to pop downstairs for a tasty treat. Plus kids will love the freedom and possibilities for imaginative play both on the expansive lawn and in the open space under the house. Future pool? Yes please! Cherished by the current family for almost 70 years, it’s time now for this gem to become a beloved habitat for someone new.
Location-wise, city workers rejoice! The CBD is only 3km away as the crow flies, so whether your commute is by bike, bus, car, or even on foot, it will take almost no time to zip in and out each day. You won’t feel caged in when it comes to socialising either, with Fitzgerald, Walcott, and Beaufort Streets all close by and all with a range of restaurants, cafes, bars, and event hotspots to check out. Eat and drink at some of Perth’s finest such as Una Més (1.1km), Cariola (750m), Bar Vino (1.9km), Testun (1.9km), Miss Potz (1.7km), Namaste India (1.2km), Ekiben (1.2km), Zambelli’s Pizza (750m), The Kosher Providore (1.6km), Le Rebelle (1.7km), or Bagel O’s (1.7km). Phew! Have a hoot with family and friends at locations including the water playground at Hyde Park (1.8km), Ron Stone Park (250m), Bowling Clubs, Tennis Clubs, Kyilla Park with its farmer’s markets (1.3km), the Rosemount (1.2km), Beatty Park (2.6km) or Stirling (2.1km) leisure centres, or the iconic Astor Theatre (1.6km). A handful of popular schools (St Pauls, Mount Lawley Primary and High Schools) are close by, too, making this a perfect spot for a young family as well as one with teens and young adults getting ready to stretch their wings.

Track propertyThe suburb of Menora grew out of a large area generally referred to as Mount Lawley. In 1954, the Nomenclature Advisory Committee, working with the Postmaster General established suburb names and boundaries for the inner metropolitan area. The area of Menora was considered unnamed, and Menora was chosen as the name because of the Menora Picture Theatre located in Walcott Street within the area.
Menora is home to a large Jewish community, the heart of which is the Perth Hebrew Congregation. It is close to the Carmel Jewish School and other Kosher facilities such as the Kosher Food Centre and Besh Fresh cafe. A Jewish synagogue was opened on Plantation Street in 1973 and remains a significant spiritual focus for Perth's Jewish community.
The suburb contains some commercial ribbon development along Walcott Street, which allows local residents to access retail services. Other facilities include a large number of public open space reserves and several pocket parks, Saint Paul's Primary School and several homes for senior citizens.
