THE DESIGN
The home features a modern Country French-inspired design that elegantly combines timber, weatherboard, and Colorbond materials. Key architectural elements include white multi-paned windows, French doors, and a pitched ceiling with exposed timber rafters, all enhancing the connection to nature. A welcoming drive-through entrance, framed by simple white columns, leads to double French doors and invites you into a bright, warm interior. The design effectively utilises windows and French doors to flood the home with natural light, further integrating the living spaces with the serene landscape and showcasing its stunning architecture.
The main living area and kitchen exude peace and serenity, with a pristine view of the private lawn and captivating bushland beyond. A standout feature is the standalone slow-combustion wood-fired heater, which draws attention and enhances the cosy atmosphere, complemented by moody pendant lighting and a striking high-pitched ceiling with exposed timber rafters. This entertaining space includes a well-designed kitchen with spacious Corian benchtops, abundant storage, and overhead cupboards. A double wall oven and 900mm gas cooktop further enhance it, while a timber-lined raised bar adds an inviting touch.
The property features four tranquil bedrooms, each serving as a private retreat accessible from the verandah. Bedrooms one, two, and three are elegantly designed, with French doors, their own bathrooms, charming chandeliers, and cozy verandah sitting areas. The main bedroom, accessed from the main living area, offers a walk-in wardrobe, ensuite, and a private courtyard. This thoughtful layout integrates beautifully with nature, offering stunning views of the lush backyard and surrounding bushland.

The townsite of Margaret River is located in the south west agricultural area, 277 kilometres south southwest of Perth and 48 kilometres south southwest of Busselton. It is located on the Margaret River from which it derives its name. The precise origin of the naming of the river is not known, but it was possibly named by John Bussell in honour of Margaret Wyche, a friend in England who was expected to follow the Bussell's to Australia. The name is first shown on a map of the region published in 1839.
In 1910 the Margaret River Progress Association wrote to the Minister for Lands requesting a townsite be declared at "the Upper Margaret Bridge". The reason given was that "the district is likely to be dotted with public buildings several miles apart in the near future if a townsite is not made available shortly". The District Surveyor who inspected the area preferred an area near the lower bridge on Caves Road, but this land was not available. Lots were surveyed in 1912, and the Townsite of Margaret River gazetted in 1913. In 1918 the name of the townsite was changed to "Margaret", but it was changed back to Margaret River in 1927, due to local usage of the name always being Margaret River.
