Smack bang in the heart of Mundaring, yet hidden back from the road you will find this hidden gem, this property is sneaky in all the good ways. It's got privacy, personality, and a pinch of rebel energy because this isn't some cookie-cutter, white-tiled, millennial grey box. This is a real home, for real people, on a juicy 5,678sqm (that's nearly 1.5 acres!) of land where the kids can ride bikes, build cubbies, dig holes, make friends with the magpies, invite as many mates over as they like, and generally grow up like it's still the '90s. Picture yourself winding up the driveway, away from the hustle and bustle of the day, pulling into your very own slice of laid-back hills lifestyle, where the days are long, the birdsong is lovely, but you can still easily skip cooking and take everyone out for dinner just up the road, if you like.

The home has all kinds of classic and/or quirky additions you may fall in love with or at least appreciate until you get your reno on. There's a sunken lounge with gloriously high, exposed timber beams fit with a woodfire, a dedicated dining space separate to the living room, and because every great Hills home deserves a bit of kitsch charm, a bar area ready for your collection of vintage glassware. The three bedrooms are all fitted with ceiling fans and the single bathroom is well-proportioned, practical, but also ready for any makeover plans you may already have in the works. When you need a little inspiration or motivation, just look out any window - it all gives you a reminder of why you live here: green, growing, the reason you've chosen not to be stuck in the suburbs anymore.

Features include:
• Solid home set back from road on huge block
• 3 bedrooms
• 1 bathroom
• Bedrooms all with ceiling fans
• Sunken lounge with high, exposed beam ceilings and woodfire
• Living room
• Separate dining room
• Bar area
• Split system & woodfire in living space plus slate flooring
• Single carport
• Shed (no power)
• Back verandah looking out to the rose garden
• Orchard with apricots, peaches and more
• 5,678sqm block

The land? It's…well, wow. This is not just a decent sized backyard. It's not even a coveted half acre of promise and possibility. This is an entire lifestyle on a lush, sprawling block that'll have you feel like you're living in your own private park. There's lawn, garden beds, so much room for chickens, veggie patches, and even space to throw in a pool if you're feeling fancy. The house is situated right at the back of the block meaning you've got privacy, and a sense of peace that you just don't get when you're five metres from your neighbour's clothesline. There's a single carport for the daily driver, a shed (unpowered but full of potential), and a sweet little back verandah perfect for evening drinks, lazy mornings, or that swing chair you've had sitting in your online cart for six months. All that and you're only moments away from Mundaring Central.

Here's space to grow, dream, roam, and breathe out. That's the real dream.

Mundaring overview

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
