Small Family Bliss

Picture this: you and your young family (or your grandkids, even better!) are walking home down your charming street, the kids have just learned to ride without training wheels, but you don't have to panic about letting them just out of reach because where safer to teach them a little independence than your own cul de sac? You're just about to reach your own front yard, and you've been doing a little gardening in the beds surrounding the sweet little pathways, so you cast an appraising eye over your progress. You know the moment you step inside you'll feel warm, welcome, and cosy - it's one of the very reasons you fell in love with the '70s brick and tile in the first place.

The open plan kitchen, dining, and living space is perfect for sharing moments with all the people you love and you've already got dinner bubbling away on the stove and plans for a sneaky movie later. The afternoon has been spent in the kitchen, cooking up a storm with a small helper or two by your side, quietly patting yourself on the back for choosing a home where the hard work of the kitchen reno has already been completed. The wooden floorboards will be gleaming, the fire is on, and if the kiddos and dogs aren't worn out enough from the ride, you can always send them out back to play safely in the fully fenced backyard for a half hour or so to soak up the last of the day's sunshine and breathe in that Hills fresh air. This home is the ideal place to nurture your family's growth, bond over shared tasks (and delicious meals!), and create core memories.

Features Include:

• 1970s brick & tile home
• 3 bedrooms
• 1 fully renovated bathroom
• Open plan kitchen, living & dining area with pot belly stove
• Recently fully renovated kitchen
• Wooden floorboards through main communal areas, bedrooms feature carpet
• 5.5 x 4.5m powered workshop with 3.2 x 1.8m woodshed
• Vehicle access to the workshop off side street
• Below ground, fenced pool
• Patio (can easily be extended)
• Neat, tidy garden with Waterwise plants & succulents
• Backyard is fully fenced
• Would suit a couple, young family, or downsizer/s
• 1,166sqm block

The real star of the show here might be the backyard, the kids will love the sparkling pool come the warmer months, while the grown-ups can relax on the patio (it's great the way it is, but could be easily extended). If you have a resident tinkerer, they'll love the workshop and with vehicle access from the side street, it's easy to get in and out without disturbing the peace of the cul de sac. Just outside your front door are so many opportunities to access nature with lovely local parks and the Heritage Trail. A good selection of schools for both Primary and High School, plus sporting facilities and clubs are just a quick drive each way - either to Mundaring or Midland. Mahogany Creek is a tranquil haven; a rare gem of a spot offering a little bit of everything - open spaces, endless options for families to explore and discover, and access to community and conveniences all families need.

The best start.

Mahogany Creek overview

This suburb takes its name from Mahogany Creek, a picturesque tributary of Jane Brook which flows through the area. The creek was known by this name as early as 1830, and takes its name from the towering forest through which it flowed (mahogany was the early colonial name for Jarrah). This place is well known from "The Old Mahogany Inn" located here, an early colonial wayside inn, formerly known as the "Prince of Wales" Inn. The area was developed as orchard land in the 1890's, and a railway stopping place was established here in 1891.
