THE HOUSE SIZED TOWNHOUSE

Some homes make you choose between space, privacy and location. This one quietly delivers all three.

Privately positioned in a peaceful pocket of Maylands, this freestanding survey-strata townhouse feels more like a home than a townhouse. Filled with natural light and surrounded by established gardens, it offers a sense of space that's becoming increasingly hard to find.

As you arrive, you're welcomed by a spacious, secure front courtyard with a generous grassed area - the perfect place for kids to play, pets to roam, or simply soak up the sunshine.

Inside, the layout has been designed for the way people actually live. A separate lounge creates the perfect place to unwind, while the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area forms the heart of the home, flowing effortlessly to a private rear entertaining area. Whether it's family dinners, weekend BBQs or simply opening the doors to let the fresh air in, this is a home that feels easy from the moment you arrive.

Upstairs, all three bedrooms are thoughtfully positioned away from the living areas, including a generous main suite complete with its own ensuite, walk-in robe and private balcony overlooking the leafy surrounds. A versatile sitting area on the upper level adds even more flexibility, making the perfect home office, reading nook or kids' retreat.

The location ties it all together. Wander down to the Swan River, explore the Baigup Wetlands, cycle into the city or spend your weekends discovering the cafés and restaurants that have made Maylands one of Perth's favourite suburbs. Peaceful, connected and surrounded by greenery, it's a lifestyle you'll appreciate every single day.

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
