Whether you're Hills locals wanting an upgrade or a family seeking a tree change, this stately home oozes character and will be sure to win you over. With an entire century under her belt, she's one of the older houses in the town but has stood the test of time marvellously having been cared for and upgraded over the years. The 2 storey design makes for an impressive facade and means there's plenty of room to ensure all the family have all the space they need.
Speaking of room, the 4 bedrooms are generously sized yet very cosy. The living areas are set around the formal lounge and feature beautiful Jarrah floorboards, high ceilings, and a neutral modern palette (while still retaining the charming cornices, windows, and timber trims of yesteryear). The new country style kitchen is a blend of practicality and style, with loads of storage space making life easier for the culinary-inclined.
With the block set smack bang in the middle of Darlington Village, you will enjoy all the benefits of village life as well as the potential for local zoning which potentially allows some commercial activities. Take a stroll and you'll soon come across the oval and tennis courts, the historic local hall, and 3 primary schools. Meet neighbours at the cafe down the road, or grab mountain bikes and head off to Mountain Quarry. Whether you're chilled out or adventurous (or a bit of both!) The name "Darlington" is derived from adding the English suffix "ton", meaning "town" to the name of the range in the area - Darling Range which was first named "General Darling Range". The name was first used by Dr Alfred Waylen who established the "Darlington Vineyard" here in 1883-4.
Darlington remains one of the few locations in the Perth hills with an early 20th century village ambience. It is known for its vibrant community with seemingly as many committees and groups as it has residents. The suburb has a local general store however residents rely on the the facilities at Midland and Mundaring which are close by. There are also various primary and secondary schools in the area.Ā
