PRIVATE 150 ACRE RETREAT - SOLD BY SUZIE PERRIN

Step back in time with the original settlers cottage and buildings located on this beautiful private property. Situated on the edge of Tambellup this little gem is the perfect country hideaway / escape. With a charming 1940's cottage plus numerous small sheds and a new large shed complete with concrete floor, power and 3 phase power. The cottage has been gutted inside as the current owner was preparing to renovate the home and was subsequently staying in a caravan on site. The toilet is in working order and connected to the septic system. Water to the property is via the numerous rainwater tanks at the rear of the sheds and cottage. A huge bonus to this property is that the power is already connected. So if you are looking for a lovely private oasis to build your home then there are plenty of beautiful house sites available. The property is fenced and has a approximately 50 % pasture and the remaining 50 % a mixture of bush along with a pine tree plantation. Aptly named The Lagoons for the lake at the rear of the property which in winter provides a fantastic spot for a canoe - please note the last photos show when the lake was full. Lot 1690 Gnowangerup-Tambellup Road is certainly a unique property and is sure to be snapped up quickly. Call Exclusive Selling Agent Suzie Perrin today to ensure you don't miss out.

Tambellup overview

The townsite of Tambellup is located in the Great Southern Agricultural region, 317 kilometres south east of Perth and 23 kilometres south of Broomehill. The area around Tambellup was first settled by pastoralists in the late 1840s, and in 1849 the Surveyor General, John Septimus Roe, when passing through the area, referred to Morrison's south west station at "Tambul-yillup". The area was later settled by the Norrish family, and the spelling commonly used for the place then was "Tambellelup". When the Great Southern Railway was opened in 1889 a station was established at Tambellup, and it appears that the shortened version of the name was created by the railway, as the timetable in 1889 uses the Tambellup spelling. Tambellup was gazetted a townsite in 1899. The meaning of this Aboriginal name is not known, although one source gives it as "place of thunder"(from Toombellanup).
