Country Style Living in the Seaside Township of Dongara

Surrounded by well-established, quality-built homes, this block immediately feels like part of a thoughtfully maintained neighbourhood-one where pride of ownership is evident and the pace of life is refreshingly relaxed. The size of the land gives you the freedom to design a home that truly suits your lifestyle, whether that's a spacious family residence, room for a shed, or simply space to breathe.

What makes this property stand out even further is a feature not often found on larger blocks in the area: deep sewer connection. It's a subtle but significant advantage, offering convenience and long-term value that many rural-style properties simply don't have.

Despite its practicality, the setting retains a genuine country feel. There's a sense of openness here-the kind that invites quiet mornings, outdoor living, and a slower rhythm of life, all while still being within easy reach of Dongara's town centre and coastal charm.

Dongara overview

Dongara is a townsite near the mouth of the Irwin River, 351 kilometres north north-west of Perth. The area was first settled in the early 1850s, and government buildings were erected in the townsite area in the late 1860s and early 1870s. There is no actual gazettal date for the townsite, but townsite lots were surveyed in 1873, and government land sales were held here in 1877 and in the 1880s. For some time an alternative spelling of "Dongarra" was used, but Dongara was adopted as the official spelling in 1944. The name is the anglicised version of "Thungarra", an Aboriginal name referring to the mouth of the Irwin River. It is said to mean "place of the fur seal".
