*Quintessentially Margaret River*
Carey Place is located within a quiet pocket of sought-after old Margaret River, and at number 3 you will find something very special indeed.
Sitting on a generous 1,033m2 block, there is living across two dwellings and beautifully kept established gardens to escape in. A three-bedroom, two-bathroom home and one-bedroom fully self-contained studio provide options for families to extend into, room for your regular guests or a rental return that will grant a very generous buffer on any financial obligations.
The presentation here is a testament to the proud sellers who have endowed many years of love and care on this property, creating a home with style that is quintessentially 'Margaret River': bespoke materials, injections of colour, exposed jarrah beams, cosy wood heater, abundant gardens, and living spaces that are warm and welcoming.
*A stylish, secluded sanctuary, close to everything that matters*
Both house and studio combine brick with timber cladding, and that A-frame roofline is very much back in vogue. This design provides for open, airy, loft-style sleeping and living spaces upstairs in both the main house and the studio.
From the second-floor bedroom windows gaze beyond the garden, above the treetops and through to glimpses of farmland out to the east of Margaret River. This is one of the few homes in town that enjoys this vantage point. Let the light filter through gorgeous soft, sheer curtains during the day and enjoy a good night's rest with block-out roller blinds at night, all newly installed in the bedrooms this year.
Both the main house and the studio feature full-size cook's kitchens with ample space and amenities for preparing wonderful family meals with all our fresh Southwest WA produce (you'll be just a 10-minute walk to the Margaret River Farmers Market on weekends!). Cook up fresh eggs for breakfast from your happy hens who will enjoy their very own little home tucked away at the back of the garden.
The grounds are truly something exceptional here. Over 400m2 of thriving gardens with pretty, leafy lawned and secluded 'zones' that are only made possible by a well-planned and mature haven such as this. The property backs onto a parkway for added privacy, and a totally awesome 6m x 6m shed is the icing on the cake.
Establish yourself in the South West's enviable lifestyle, living in the heart of old Margaret River. You'll be close to all the stuff that matters:
5-minute walk to Margaret River Primary School,
10-minute walk to main street shops and cafes, Margaret River Highschool and TAFE, and the Margaret River itself with bushland trails and kayaking.

The townsite of Margaret River is located in the south west agricultural area, 277 kilometres south southwest of Perth and 48 kilometres south southwest of Busselton. It is located on the Margaret River from which it derives its name. The precise origin of the naming of the river is not known, but it was possibly named by John Bussell in honour of Margaret Wyche, a friend in England who was expected to follow the Bussell's to Australia. The name is first shown on a map of the region published in 1839.
In 1910 the Margaret River Progress Association wrote to the Minister for Lands requesting a townsite be declared at "the Upper Margaret Bridge". The reason given was that "the district is likely to be dotted with public buildings several miles apart in the near future if a townsite is not made available shortly". The District Surveyor who inspected the area preferred an area near the lower bridge on Caves Road, but this land was not available. Lots were surveyed in 1912, and the Townsite of Margaret River gazetted in 1913. In 1918 the name of the townsite was changed to "Margaret", but it was changed back to Margaret River in 1927, due to local usage of the name always being Margaret River.
