Are you looking at retirement homes for your Mum or Dad? If so, it's lovely to share this story that a son has written on the life of his Mum here at St Ives Centro. Why she chose this Apartment and what it was like living here .... Now isn't time that you have a look too?
the location has the gorgeous aspect overlooking the bowling green and the advantage of having residents walking past, if they are social and like company? If they're not social, potential residents who would like their privacy, the electric blinds create the privacy one may want however still benefiting from not only the outlook but the closeness to the main facilities. The restaurant for dinner, I know mum loved going to, especially on the night where just about everyone went there with it's lovely ambiance and vibe. Also not far to walk if too many wines. :) Loneliness is a concern for anyone with elderly parents and it was for this reason the apartment was so attractive to us for mum, as no matter how ill she may have become in the future, there would always be someone passing by, even if the blinds were down.
The great part about facing west is not only the reasons I've mentioned above, but also the reverse of north facing. In all three of the other seasons, you get the beautiful western afternoon sun to warm up the apartment. If facing west in summer is a concern, the afternoon sun is totally blocked by the electronic transparent blinds. They were pulled down by mum hardly ever in the 5 years she was there. The afternoon sun was never an issue. Maybe the main building blocked most of it? Not sure.
Also it's so easy to get to / find for visiting family or friends as its the first ground floor apartment next to the car park.'
