Classic Cottage, Modern Upgrades

Finding the perfect home isn't just about ticking boxes on a list, although this extended cottage does manage to check quite a few! It's also a serious proposition for a growing family or a savvy investor. Beyond just a charming home, it's got character, space outside, and potential in spades. Whether you plan to make it the landing pad for your future growth (both in the property market and/or in the family way) where you can sip wine on the back patio and let the pup roam free or you've got your eye on it for its rental potential, you simply can't go past it.

It has kept a lot of its charm with features like the ceiling roses and loads of natural light but enjoyed a real upgrade thanks to a ripper kitchen reno and extensions. Bringing monochromatic black and white beauty with a 900mm cooker and hybrid flooring, this is easy maintenance, easy-clean, and easy on the eyes. Plus, there's a fabulous dining room right there where you can dish up family meals or host your favourites for a cheeky dinner party. You may not expect multiple living spaces in such a cute cottage but this one features a formal living room that's begging for a glass of wine and a cosy evening in. With stunning Jarrah look floors and air conditioning to keep it cool in the Summer, this is just the spot. And movie buffs rejoice, because there's also a dedicated theatre room!

Features include:
• Renovated character 1940s cottage with completed extensions
• 4 lovely bedrooms
• 1 renovated bathroom
• Main bedroom with split-system air conditioning
• Black & white kitchen with 900mm cooker & easy-clean hybrid floors
• Hybrid flooring throughout main living areas & split-system air conditioning throughout
• Carpeted theatre room with feature wall & ceiling rose
• Formal living area with Jarrah-look floors, feature wall & air conditioning unit
• Dining room
• Single car carport
• Rear patio for outdoor living
• Fully fenced yard
• Powered shed for additional storage or workspace
• 1,012sqm block

Shall we take this party outside? We should, because the backyard is fully fenced and ready for kids to play, dogs to chase, and you to just breathe out. The rear patio is perfect for Summertime BBQs and lazy Sunday mornings with bottomless coffee. And the powered shed is a total bonus to boot for extra storage, a workshop, or a place to unleash DIY dreams. With a single carport to top it off, this upgraded and extended cottage gives you a whole lot of practicalities without skimping on charm. With a library, café, grocery store, bus stops, and all the facilities that are essential for everyday life, Wundowie is a fabulous place to set up as your home base. Plus it's less than an hour's drive into the city, so you can still easily travel in for work or play.

Love this upgrade.

Wundowie overview

The townsite of Wundowie is located in the Darling Range 72 kilometres east northeast of Perth and 31 kilometres west southwest of Northam. It is located adjacent to the original railway track from Perth to Northam, and in 1907 the Railways Department applied for a name for a newly constructed siding at the 53 Mile between Werribee and Karrijine. The name Wundowing was suggested by the Lands Department, and this was shortened to Wundowi by the Surveyor General.

In 1943 the government decided to commence preliminary work for a blast furnace and wood distillation plant at Wundowie, and to develop a townsite for the workers. Following the survey of lots in 1946 the townsite of Wundowie was gazetted in 1947. Wundowie derives its name from Woondowing Spring, an Aboriginal name for a nearby spring first recorded in 1874. The spelling for the siding was changed according to rules for spelling Aboriginal names adopted by the Lands Department. The meaning of the name is not known, but but it has been suggested it may be derived from Ngwundow, meaning "to lie down".
