HUGE BLOCK AND MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY

Set on a 943sqm block you will not find a better opportunity anywhere in the world. Well, at least not in Perth. Well, at least not in the Southeast metropolitan area. I've made a big claim there, but check it out and prove me wrong…

Built in 1969 this is without a doubt a very 1969 home. It's got some of the original features of that era including the front door with the door handle in the middle of the door. It's all charming character stuff and there's so much you are going to be able to do with this awesome place.

INSIDE
Back in 1969, they didn't make huge living areas, but in around 1980 they did and so that was when it was extended and a huge games room was added. This is certainly one of the most impressive elements of this property. The kitchen is well positioned and is well-positioned to overlook the main living area. This is a very functional family space!

PLUS there is the original formal lounge room at the front of the home. It accommodates a lounge and tv and there is even an old-style space for a fireplace.

Underneath the carpet is the original floorboards, you could quite likely strip this back and have a classy hardwood floor, pretty much for free. (If you were to put in a floor like this today it would cost you thousands upon thousands)

The bedrooms are all of a good size with the master bedroom being big enough for a king-sized bed. The secondary bedrooms are quite reasonable too but bear in mind in 1969 there weren't too many eight-year old's in a queen-sized bed. This is how the baby boomers grew up and you could stack these kids on top of each other with a couple of squeaky bunk beds. You'd get four kids in each of these rooms back then. They're certainly pretty decent, but not massive.

OUTSIDE
The house is great, and it has huge potential, but this backyard is really something else. Whilst people were possibly a bit smaller in 1969 the backyards were way bigger! It's an enormous block with enormous potential there is access to the rear for a vehicle to get through the back end of the garage/ carport. Build your shed, build your garden, and live the great Australian dream like it's 1969.

WHERE IT IS
This is truly an awesome location if you are looking for convenience, it's only moments away from Challis train station, it's easy walking distance to Kingsley Primary School and Kelmscott Senior High School, as well as has plenty of parks nearby with one just across the street and the Creyk Football Oval just around the corner, it's also very close to the Armadale Hospital. This is a fantastic location!

WHAT NEXT
It's the first time on the market since 1969, so in theory, after it sells now it may not be for sale again until 2074. Can you really wait that long? It's an as-is-where-is sale here so whatcha see is whatcha get.

Kelmscott overview

Kelmscott is a mixed-use residential, industrial, rural and commercial suburb located 25 kilometres southeast of Perth. The suburb was one of the very early towns established in the Swan River Colony and was named after Kelmscott, Oxfordshire, the birthplace of the first Anglican clergyman in the colony, Thomas Hobbes Scott (1783–1860). Established in 1830, Kelmscott's most rapid growth period was in the 1960s and 1970s.
