What we love
With the beach in one direction and lush local parklands in the other, this delightful 2 bedroom 1 bathroom street-front home on a generous 542sqm (approx.) block is perfectly positioned for easy coastal living – and leaves plenty of scope to add your own personal modern touches throughout, wherever you see fit. Beyond the front entry verandah lies a carpeted master bedroom with split-system air-conditioning, as well as a spacious lounge room that is also carpeted for comfort and has its own split-system air-conditioner for climate control. Brilliant in its simplicity is a practical bathroom with a shower, toilet and vanity.

The central kitchen has a gas-upright cooker and leads into the open-plan second living and dining area at the back of the house. Outdoors and off the latter, the backyard is huge and is essentially a “blank canvas” that can be whatever you want it to be. A future covered entertaining area or swimming pool definitely wouldn’t look out of place here, that’s for sure. It’s time to get those creative juices flowing, in one way or another.

What to know
Extras include carpet to the second bedroom, security doors and screens, an internal electric hot-water system, an external laundry/workshop/storeroom at the rear, an under-cover drying area and a single lock-up garage – with a roller door for peace of mind.

Stroll to snorkelling, swimming and a calm lagoon at the iconic local hotspot that is Mettams Pool, with bus stops, the North Beach Bowling and Tennis Clubs, Our Lady of Grace Primary School and the sprawling Charles Riley Memorial Reserve playing fields nestled at the end of the street.

Aside from the nearby beach, you will also love living close to North Beach Shopping Centre and North Beach Primary School just around the corner, cafes, restaurants, vibrant Flora Terrace, the majestic “Class A” Star Swamp Bushland Reserve, Trigg Point, public and private golf courses, the new-look Karrinyup Shopping Centre, the freeway, other top educational facilities and even Hillarys Boat Harbour a little further, north. If location is what you appreciate the most, then this one definitely has your name written all over it.

North Beach overview

The name North Beach began as a descriptive name, derived from the suburb being at the time the most northerly of Perth's beaches. It was assigned in 1888 when surveyor Charles Crossland referred to the pastoral leases of Samuel Richard Hamersley as his "north beach coastal run". The suburb was originally set aside as a timber reserve in the 1860s and then as a quarantine area for camels entering in the 1890s. A number of orchards operated in the area with the only evidence that remains today an old olive tree on Hope Street.

Life in North Beach

Residential styles in North Beach include a mix of holiday dwellings from before and after World War II, some former workers' houses, and modern dwellings. As a residential suburb, North Beach has small shopping areas on the coast and at Flora Terrace and Castle Street which offer basic commercial services. The suburb features a tennis club and has two primary schools - North Beach Primary School and Our Lady of Grace School.
