Jarrah floors, good proportions and a level block fashion a home with potential. Whether you want to enter the property market or purchase an investment property, this Wundowie cottage is an appealing prospect.
A welcoming front porch overlooking the lush front garden leads to a lounge room with a slow-combustion fire fitted to the original fireplace, a gas bayonet and the rich jewel-like tones of jarrah floorboards. A sleepout adjoining the lounge offers a multipurpose space – home office, guest bedroom, or media room.
Central to this classic floorplan is a generously proportioned kitchen with a Metters stove and the original hearth and surround still in place. A freestanding oven and ample overhead and under-bench storage bring modern functionality. A small utility room set behind the kitchen has the potential to be styled as a large walk-in pantry. A laundry and separate WC are also arranged at the rear of the home.
Both bedrooms are carpeted – the larger of the two has dual aspect glazing – and share the family bathroom, which includes an over-tub shower and vanity.
The backyard is laid mostly to lawn and offers a blank slate to anyone looking to grow vegetables and keep chicken. Brick paving provides space for outdoor entertaining, a garden shed sits at one boundary, and a larger partitioned shed with a concrete floor and a sliding glass door sits at the other.
Wundowie is well-serviced with the essential services needed for a self-supporting community. Located opposite a small reserve on a street that forms part of an amphitheatre-style layout, this home is within walking distance to all amenities that Wundowie has to offer.

The townsite of Wundowie is located in the Darling Range 72 kilometres east northeast of Perth and 31 kilometres west southwest of Northam. It is located adjacent to the original railway track from Perth to Northam, and in 1907 the Railways Department applied for a name for a newly constructed siding at the 53 Mile between Werribee and Karrijine. The name Wundowing was suggested by the Lands Department, and this was shortened to Wundowi by the Surveyor General.
