Tranquil Lifestyle Retreat

This secluded 6.44 acre property is tucked away in Tingleview Estate, one of the most desirable lifestyle settings in Walpole. One of the few properties in the area with direct access to Jones Road at the rear, it opens straight onto Karri and Tingle forest trails right from the back gate. Surrounded by bushland and scattered with hundreds of old growth grass trees, the block has a rare sense of privacy and immersion in nature, while still being only a short drive from town.
The home sits among a clearing and is a spacious two bedroom, one bathroom residence that has been carefully renovated, with a soaring timber ceiling that brings warmth and character to the main living areas. The large kitchen includes a Swiss made Ilve double oven, a breakfast bar island and excellent storage. Comfort is assured year round with both a split system and wood heater, while an outdoor patio extends the living space into the garden. Every bedroom has direct access to the outdoors, reinforcing the easy connection to the bush setting. The bathroom is spacious with a shower over a clawfoot bath. It is practical and comfortable as it stands, with scope to add your own touches in time.
The large home office was created from the original double garage and works well as a space for remote work or an art studio. With plumbing and wiring already in place there is scope to take it further, whether as additional living space or a self contained studio. Fast internet is available, making the property well suited to those seeking a reliable work from home base or simply wanting to enjoy the quiet of a semi rural lifestyle.
A double bay workshop and separate woodshed sit alongside two rainwater tanks plumbed to the house, while an additional tank provides extra capacity and is presently used for the garden. An outdoor bar and kitchen take in the bushland outlook, while raised vegetable beds are in place together with citrus and olive trees.
Circular Pool is only minutes away, with the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk and other South Coast highlights also close by. Walpole township is ten minutes from the property, while Denmark is a 45 minute drive away.
This is one of the more unique lifestyle properties to come onto the market in the Walpole area, and an inspection will not disappoint. Please contact Andrew Barrow on 0409081075 for further details.

Walpole overview

The townsite of Walpole is located on the south coast, 423 kilometres south southeast of Perth and 66 kilometres west of Denmark. It derives its name from Walpole Inlet, being located on the shore of the inlet. Walpole Inlet takes its name from the river flowing into it discovered by Captain Thomas Bannister in 1831, and named by Governor Stirling after Captain W Walpole with whom he served on the "Warspite" in 1808.

In 1910 the government set aside land in the Walpole area as a national park, and in the following years and in the 1920s the area became a popular tourist destination. In 1929 the railway line reached Nornalup, 13 kilometres east of Walpole, and in 1930 the Nornalup Reserves Board proposed the development of an area for small suburban lots for holiday cottages on Nornalup Inlet. A site was selected for a townsite in 1932 and lots surveyed in 1933. When the townsite was gazetted in 1933 the name Walpole was preferred, but it was named Nornalup, as it was believed the name Walpole had already been used in Tasmania. Confusion soon arose, as the name Nornalup related more to the railway terminus 13 km east on the Frankland River. A number of renaming options were considered before the Post Office confirmed that there wasn't a Walpole in Tasmania, and so in 1934 Nornalup was renamed Walpole.
