'Charming' doesn't quite do this magnificent cottage justice! Constructed of stone in the 1950s it's undergone a few makeovers since yet is still a perfectly lovely piece of historic Mahogany Creek. Modern additions merge seamlessly with original features and the result is a home in which you can raise a family, downsize to after the kids have flown the nest, or enjoy on your very own.

When friends come calling you'll love nothing more than to show off the pretty feature fireplace and lead lighting in the living area while enjoying a cuppa or two. The shine on the Jarrah floorboards offer the perfect complement against the rustic granite and brick walls throughout, and the country style kitchen with its plentiful storage and soft palette harks back to the '50s without being kitsch. The bedrooms are well sized also and there's plenty of room to move in this delightful home.

Need a second home? Have an extended family? Considering a rental income or Airbnb? With over 9000sqm of land you have plenty of space to do with as you please, especially seeing as there is approval to build a second home. Mahogany Creek overview

This suburb takes its name from Mahogany Creek, a picturesque tributary of Jane Brook which flows through the area. The creek was known by this name as early as 1830, and takes its name from the towering forest through which it flowed (mahogany was the early colonial name for Jarrah). This place is well known from "The Old Mahogany Inn" located here, an early colonial wayside inn, formerly known as the "Prince of Wales" Inn. The area was developed as orchard land in the 1890's, and a railway stopping place was established here in 1891.
