The Opportunity You’ve Been Waiting For

Whether you're a first home buyer, block upscaling and wanting a tree change with land or an investor, this property is a marvellous opportunity for a great-priced and well-located home in gorgeous Boya. Built in the mid-60's, this home offers an authentic 60's vibe that you can either move in and live, do some cosmetic touch ups, completely renovate, or knock down and build your dream home. Best of all, the big 1568sqm block provides beautiful bushland surrounds with a direct outlook onto Marriott Park and creek and a treetop vista that can be enjoyed from the whole parcel of land.
The savvy buyer might make enquiries about building at the rear and retaining the cottage as a granny flat, subject to all local council and building regulations and approvals of course.

Located in the small suburb of Boya and adjacent to Darlington and Helena Valley, this home is within walking distance to the public library, tennis courts, playing fields, doctor, chemist, public transport, cafe, fruit and veg, and other small boutique shops.

Just a few minutes’ drive is Helena Valley Primary School and just another 10 minutes’ drive you will be in the heart of fast changing Midland with a new hospital, restaurants, and Midland Gate extension. Or head to the hills for hiking and biking the Kalamunda townsite and Bickley Valley Wine Trail.

Boya overview

To supply the stone required to build the groynes at Fremantle Harbour, a Government quarry was established in the hills a little south-west of Darlington. A spur line was run into the quarry from the existing railway and, by July 1901, dozens of iron and hessian huts housing approximately 150 workmen were clustered near the site. In August of 1901, construction began on a railway siding for the use of this settlement and the first name proposed was "Yan-Yeen". This was rejected because of a duplication in Victoria and the Aboriginal word "Boya", appropriately meaning rock/stone, was chosen instead. It was later found that the correct Aboriginal name for the area was "Nyeedoup" but Boya remains appropriate as the Aboriginal sub-tribe who once inhabited the hills were known as "Boya-Ngoora".
