Acreage Delight in Mundaring

Set on a sprawling 4,047sqm block - that's a full acre of space for you to play with - this property offers the kind of lifestyle that so many dream of. Especially considering you're not 2 hours out of town here, in fact, you're only 4 minutes away from vibrant Mundaring central! On this property, your children can roam freely with space for backyard cricket, everyone to have a vegetable garden of their own, and perhaps they'll convince you there's now a perfect backyard setup for a new pup. Or two. For over 40 years, this home has been the centre of a family's life where it provided not just a lovely home but a way of living: growing their own food, keeping chooks, and making the most of the heavenly land they were lucky enough to live on. Now, it's looking for a new crew to love it, to enjoy the modern additions and embrace the old-fashioned joys of semi self-sufficiency.

You can feel the warmth of a home that's been cherished. First built in 1979, this is a solid brick and tile residence that features five generous bedrooms, so there's plenty of special corners and spaces for you to all claim as your own. The front lounge is definitely the spot you'll want to spend family time; wood fire, timber-look floors, and all that natural light streaming through large windows. A cute built-in display shelf adds a touch of character while the semi-open plan flows seamlessly through to the dining area. The country kitchen is - as always - the heart of the home with a bigger-than-average pantry, loads of cupboards, and enough drawers to store all your culinary treasures. Your home cook will be thrilled! The separate games room with slate flooring and exposed brick walls invites you to choose between embracing the rustic charm or giving it a modern twist with your personal style.

Mundaring overview

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
