DOES LIVING OFF THE GRID ATTRACT YOU?

Tucked away at the edge of the Stirling ranges, this quaint cottage offers you the opportunity to escape from the city to your own rural hideaway.

Sitting on 3.8 acres this Council approved 2 bedroom rendered cottage is completely off the grid, & offers the chance for someone with a vision to add their own finishing touches and complete the renovation to make those dreams come true - most of the hard work has already been done.

The home is separated into a kitchen, bathroom/laundry, two bedrooms and a large living area.

At the front there is a magical sun room extending the length of the house and housing a wonderful array of potted plants and flowers.

There is a solar system which provides energy for a fridge, tv and lights. Included in the sale are two generators to provide extra electricity when needed.

Power is available if you want to have it connected.

This block is fully fenced and parkland cleared and is located in a 450 -500mm rainfall zone to fill your water tanks in winter with the occasional shower during the year to top them back up.

Only 3 min from Tenterden and 6 min from Cranbrook this property has room for you to move. Maybe even room for a few sheep, goats, ponies or chickens – it's up to you!

Set in the Great Southern you will be on the edge the Frankland river and Mt Barker vineyards and walking trails through the Stirling Range National Park – the only place where the Cranbrook Bell is found!

With Mt Barker only 20 mins away and Albany 45 mins you will have the southern coastline to explore.

Cranbrook offers a primary school, recently upgraded sporting club with a strong lawn bowl community.

On the way to Cranbrook you get to drive through the greens of the Cranbrook golf club which regularly holds strong competitive and relaxing social events.

The Cranbrook Hotel has been operating since 1898 and is a local community hub.

Tenterden has a very strong tennis club with the West Plantagenet Pony club a few km further south.

Mt barker is 29 minutes south and offers doctors, hospital, primary and high school plus football, cricket, bowling, motor racing, horse racing, camp drafting and golf clubs.

Further on is the city of Albany that offers all the amenities of Perth surrounded by the picturesque bays of the Albany coastline.

It is not easy to find acreage of this size in the country - not too big to look after and not too small to hem you in.

If this is what you have been dreaming of for retirement, or to live in whilst you build your dream country home it is here waiting for you. You can then turn this into a cute country Air BNB to bring in a little bit of extra cash flow.

At this price you cannot go wrong.

Tenterden overview

The townsite of Tenterden is located in the great southern agricultural region, 328 kilometres southeast of Perth and 11 kilometres south of Cranbrook. It is located on the Great Southern Railway, and although not one of the original sidings when the line was opened in 1889, a siding had been established here by 1891. Also in 1891 the government opened up agricultural land adjacent to the siding, by declaring the Tenterden Agricultural Area, and in 1893 part of this land was gazetted as the townsite of Tenterden. Both Tenterden and nearby Cranbrook are named after towns of the same name in Kent, England. They are believed to have been named by Mr J A Wright, who was manager of the Western Australian Land Company which built the railway. Mr Wright was educated at Queen Elizabeth School in Cranbrook.
