REIWA’s newest Councillor announced

Chiara Pacifici has been elected as the newest member of REIWA Council.

The results of the 2023 Council Election were announced at the Institute’s 105th Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday afternoon. Chiara received the majority of votes from Ordinary and Life members in a close election over three other candidates: David Albert Da Piedade Quadros, Liesa Leddick and Matthew Scofield.

Chiara fills the vacancy created by Damian Collins, who served a 12-year tenure on Council including four years as President from 2018-22. President Joe White thanked Damian for his commitment, service and contribution to the industry, which he continues to serve as a Director of the Real Estate Institute of Australia.

REIWA’s annual accounts were formally adopted at the AGM, and both Joe White and CEO Cath Hart delivered their reports on the 2022-23 financial year.

The 2023-24 Councillors are:

President Joe White welcomed Chiara to the Council, bringing her experience and perspective as an Accredited Buyers Agent who is also a member of the REIWA Buyers Agent Network Committee.

“As we face ongoing challenges in the market, I am reassured that we have the industry’s best people to drive the Institute’s strategic plan and advocate on members’ behalf,” said Joe.

“I want to commend Cath Hart for steering the ship so effectively in her first full year as our CEO. I welcome Chiara to the Board, and thank my fellow Councillors, Deputy President Suzanne Brown; Rob Mandanici, Chair of the Finance and Risk Management Committee; and Past President Damian for your unwavering commitment to our industry.”
