PRIVATE...PEACEFUL...CONVENIENT...RURAL HIDEAWAY

Every now and again an absolute gem comes onto the market in the Margaret River region, and this is one of those gems. Owned by the same family for 52 years, stake your claim for the next 50 years on this sprawling 200-acre property. Nestled away in a beautiful tranquil area only a 10-minute drive to Margaret River Township.

Approximately 50 Hectares of native bushland and 30 Hectares of pasture, it is a true rural escape, with an amazing huge dam centrally located in a super scenic position of the property. Jarrah from the farm was milled to build the solid brick and iron homestead which adjoins a bunkhouse/shed with its own bathroom, ideal for the kids and visitors. And two more 3 bay sheds, one of quite newish with one lockable bay and concrete pad. Tucked away nearby is a cracker old Wood Shack with wood stove salvaged from the old Adelaide Timber Company. Ideal kids' cubby. Near the dam is 3 bay hay shed and the property is divided into 7 paddocks and an orchard. A solid Jarrah Bridge provides access over the Dam Wall to the western side of the property to pristine bushland boasting in season Native Orchids and an abundance of Native Birdlife. Water is not an issue here with the impressive dam and a bore that supplies drinking quality water as well.

The property overall is very pretty and amazingly quiet and gently undulating both from the west and east to the central water course that feeds the main dam and two smaller dams one with a windmill. Sellers will include tractor, solid old farm ute and all accessories in all the sheds to basically just walk in and take over the farm.

This stunning rare and impressive hideaway is going to appeal to a myriad of buyers, and I would recommend not dawdling and make an appointment to view soon.

Witchcliffe overview

The townsite of Witchcliffe is located in the south west agricultural region, 286 kilometres south southwest of Perth and nine kilometres south of Margaret River. In 1924 the government extended the railway to Witchcliffe, and at first selected the name Newralingup for the siding, but the name Narawary was approved. However, a Post Office named Witchcliffe had already been opened when the railway siding was named, and Narawary siding was renamed Witchcliffe in February 1925. Also in 1924 interest was shown in blocks of land at Witchcliffe Siding, and after investigation a scheme of subdivision was planned, lots surveyed, and a townsite gazetted in 1926.

The name Witchcliffe was first used in this district for Witchliffe Cave, the name being recorded by a surveyor in 1900. The name was probably given by the Bussell family who settled near here in the 1850's, naming their property "Wallcliffe House". Both the homestead and the cave are in an area of coastal cliffs, hence the "cliffe" part of the name.
