Martin is a rural and rural-residential southeast suburb of Perth within the municipality of the City of Gosnells. The suburbs population was scarce until the 1970s and has only fluctuated mildly between 1991 and 2011. Largely untouched by urbanisation, Martin stretches from the banks of Canning River into the foothills with parts of the suburb relatively close to the Gosnells town site. There is plenty of public open space to explore with the Korung National Park, Banyowla Regional Park, Ellis Brook Valley Reserve, Quarry Park, Wrights Brook Region Open Space and Cohunu Koala Park. There is one school in the area which is Lumen Christi College.
