As a surfer I had been a visitor to Dunsborough Yallingup and surrounding areas since the mid 70’s and developed a love for the area along with a desire to make it my home. That dream was realised in 1988 when along with my larger family, we bought a local business to make it happen. That business was the then iconic Green Acres Caravan Park on the Dunsborough foreshore.
At the time Dunsborough was a relatively unknown sleepy hollow, frequented by keen surfers, farming families from the greater South West and others that appreciated the natural riches of the region.
With the growing pains of our town we sold our wonderful parcel of land to make way for more growth and other opportunities such as being the owners and operators of Banamah Wildlife Park and Coconut Bar & Café. After that chapter I started my own small earthmoving business - Baker Earthmoving, running around Town and the outer areas in my bobcat and truck. This gave me a detailed look into many properties, with many people and has been a very rewarding aspect of my life. With the advent of the GFC and the down turn in local work an opportunity presented for me to use my skills overseas in PNG and the Soloman Islands. After a redundancy and returning home I was offered a position as a Sales Consultant with the Professionals. After some research and consultation I felt the national brand of the Professionals would be the right fit for me with my local knowledge, network of contacts and love of the area.
