Big Home with Good Views

Situated near the top of Waterside Rise gives this home good views looking north east up the Blackwood River towards Molloy Island.

Upon entering the home you can feel the warmth and quality of the property. Timber is a real feature of the home and has been tastefully incorporated throughout the living areas. The other main feature of this home is the spacious room sizes.

The kitchen is constructed from solid WA blackbutt timber, a lighter honey colour, with plenty of cupboards and a walk-in pantry. The oven and cook top are both electric. The window over the sink allows light in and provides a good outlook.

The lounge and dining areas are one big room with a high, pine lined ceiling. The lounge area is quite large with large windows to take advantage of the view. A pair of French doors open from the lounge onto a covered deck also with river views.

Next is a carpeted theatre room which leads into the third and fourth bedrooms, the main bathroom and the country sized laundry. These rooms are all generous in their proportions.

Upstairs is a very large master suite and second bedroom. The master suite incorporates French doors leading onto a small balcony, the ensuite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. The views from the bed are outstanding. The current owner is using the second bedroom as an office and has the potential to become an ideal parent’s retreat.

The home is in excellent condition throughout and your inspection is invited.

Augusta overview

The most south westerly town in the state, Augusta was named by Gov. Sir James Stirling in May 1830. Until 2003 it was thought the name honoured Princess Augusta Sophia, second daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 2003 the book "James Stirling - Admiral and Founding Governor of Western Australia" a letter by James Turner is referred to which states "a town is purposed to be built named Augusta, County of Sussex, in compliment to the Duke". Princess Augusta Sophia died unmarried, and the "Duke" is most likely the Duke of Sussex, Augustus Frederick (Hanover), the 6th son of George III. He married Lady Augusta Murray in 1793, but the marriage was deemed a violation of the Royal Marriage Act, and was declared null and void in 1794. Lady Augusta Murray is most likely the person after whom Augusta is named.
