Safe swimming beaches along the river, snorkeling amongst the fish at Blue Holes, surfing at one of the top left hand breaks and sand boarding are just a start. Many a happy angler will be found in Kalbarri with locals and visitors alike participating in regular fishing competitions.

Community groups, fundraising and hard work has provided Kalbarri with a great skate park for our youth and a fabulous new Sport and Recreation Building for football, cricket, softball and tennis courts etc. The golf and bowling clubs have recently been resurfaced. Kalbarri golf course is an 18 hole course and is the greenest green north of Perth, which is maintained by re-cycled water. A very active golf group enjoys this picturesque course.

If you are the more adventurous type, there are hiking tacks throughout the Kalbarri National Park, canoeing the Murchison River or abseiling the Gorges. Kalbarri has a wonderful Medical Centre with quality care available 24 hours a day. The doctor's surgery is adjacent to the Medical Centre and is opposite the Physiotherapy Centre offering remedial care, Pilates, yoga and massage therapy. There are several health and beauty services available offering a wide variety of beauty, holistic and natural health therapies as well as 2 hairdressing salons. If your family pet needs care, the Chapman Animal Hospital operates every second Wednesday.

Emergency services to Kalbarri are more than sufficiently catered for and include St John Ambulance, Fire Brigade, SES, VMR and the Police. With the exception of the Police, most services are provided by volunteers as is the case in most regional communities. Art and Craft enthusiasts meet at the Art Shed' and produce some very creative pieces of work and a free library service is available, if you prefer a quiet read.
