Constructed in 1997, the home has a somewhat rare and historical presence about it. Entering through the red front door you are instantly drawn to the rustic charm. Slate flooring throughout, exposed timber beams, onsite handmade mud bricks, high ceilings, intriguing rooms and space, come together bringing you an oasis of creativeness.

The open plan living area is highlighted by the sensational kitchen. Featuring a Ilve 900mm free-standing stainless-steel cooker, dishwasher, walk-in pantry, commercial sized fridge recess, tiled bench tops and stunning garden views set the scene for the incredible entertaining space. A separate sitting room is off to the left of the entrance and features a granite open fireplace.

A king-sized master suite is located on the eastern side of the home and features bay windows, a separate ensuite with garden views, spa bath, shower, toilet and a large walk-in robe. Bedroom 2 is further along the hallway, along with the study/office. The west side of the home features bedroom 3 and 4, both bedrooms are generous in size and have a walk-in wardrobe. Towards the end of the hallway, there is a separate bathroom and a superb laundry with outside access and storage room. A separate 1-bedroom studio sits to the west of the main residence and overlooks the northern aspect of the property and is accessible via stoned pathways.

The impressive undercover alfresco is accessible from the main living area. The timber decking is framed with lush gardens, a built-in BBQ and large steps that lead down to the gardens and lawn.

A winter creek runs through the property and generally flows for 8 months of the year, with a dam holding water all year round. The property extends to the north and has been sectioned off allowing a separate paddock for the 4 residential Alpacas.

Mature Karri trees, natives, a small selection of fruit trees and lush gardens, finish off this property beautifully. This magnificent home is truly something to be seen. It's stylish and charming, and with the quaint artistic personal touches throughout, it's what makes this property truly remarkable.

Margaret River overview

The townsite of Margaret River is located in the south west agricultural area, 277 kilometres south southwest of Perth and 48 kilometres south southwest of Busselton. It is located on the Margaret River from which it derives its name. The precise origin of the naming of the river is not known, but it was possibly named by John Bussell in honour of Margaret Wyche, a friend in England who was expected to follow the Bussell's to Australia. The name is first shown on a map of the region published in 1839.

In 1910 the Margaret River Progress Association wrote to the Minister for Lands requesting a townsite be declared at "the Upper Margaret Bridge". The reason given was that "the district is likely to be dotted with public buildings several miles apart in the near future if a townsite is not made available shortly". The District Surveyor who inspected the area preferred an area near the lower bridge on Caves Road, but this land was not available. Lots were surveyed in 1912, and the Townsite of Margaret River gazetted in 1913. In 1918 the name of the townsite was changed to "Margaret", but it was changed back to Margaret River in 1927, due to local usage of the name always being Margaret River.
