Thirty one years ago the current owners were very pleased to be able to build with Healey and Richards a local builder who had made a name for themselves building quality homes. The owner believes this is number 204 of 211 homes by this builder. The quality is on show right from the very start as you approach with sweeping, wrap around verandahs, no eaves and no gutters, the drainage system off the roof is sorted with paving and inside, with the large feature windows with lovely wooden sills and all the architectural features.

Be warmly greeted by a front entrance hall with a stunning and sturdy Jarrah door, ready for a pretty Christmas wreath! To the left of the entrance is the family, meals and kitchen space; a lovely, large lofty area with cathedral ceilings, carpet and slate flooring, a bespoke wooden TV cabinet and especially, the super-sized kitchen. The chef’s kitchen has room for all the cooks in the family to cook together making all the family favourites with quality appliances including a Smeg oven. The cupboards are made of beautiful, solid jarrah and the lovely green Laminex tops match the outside environment. Gazing out the kitchen windows preparing meals would only provide a sense of tranquillity and calmness. This hub of the home includes a slow combustion fire for all those chilly days and a reverse cycle air-conditioner to keep you comfortable year round.

To the right of the home is the study and separate lounge room which the modern family may like to use as a theatre room. This space can be sectioned off from the hub of the home to provide a quiet area to read a book or work from home. Beyond this area is the main bedroom with a walk-in-robe and a beautifully renovated, on-trend, grey and white bathroom. This bedroom features double aspect windows to wake up to your own little bit of paradise every day.

To the left of the hub of the home you will find the junior wing. Complete with three bedrooms with built-in-robes, a family bathroom, separate toilet, linen storage and the laundry.

Along with this fabulous, quality built home is a stunning 4148m2 of beautiful Aussie bush. Your own little slice of Australia. The current owners have identified 33 different species of birds on this block and the day we were there a kangaroo and her baby joey were right out the back door and happy for us to take their photo. Next door are two acres of reserve which makes your block feel even larger and provides children and grandchildren with oodles of land to make cubbies, ride bikes and dig for treasure! So much fun for children to explore and find a real love of the natural world in your very own backyard. A shed with concrete flooring and a built in bench is a handy addition for anyone who likes to tinker.

Keeping your fitness up and making the most of the natural surroundings you will find nearby the Munda Biddi, the Bibbulmun Track, Mundaring Golf Course and Heritage Trails. The Munda Biddi is Western Australia’s iconic long distance cycling trail from Mundaring to Albany; 1000kms of world-class, nature based cycling, the Bibbulmun Track which also is one of the world’s greatest long distance walking trails passes through Mundaring from Kalamunda and ends in Albany. Living in this location gives you easy access to these world class activities.

Mundaring overview

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
