**We have a number of offers to present to the owner now, and so we have to cut off viewings. Should they not work out, we will advertise another open.**

When the owners came up from the flats all those years ago, they fell in love with the 1 acre of land and "Highland" was the result! The house was small back then - just 2 beds - so over the years it's been extended and improved and is now a 3 bed home with a study (or master bed walk in robe), with a new bathroom and the original combined laundry bathroom. 2 spacious extra bedrooms have also been added. The result is a proper Hills style home that has retained its roots, but is more suited to a modern day family. It is a combination rarely seen for sale, but it is time for the current owners to move on.

Built in 1967, all the infrastructure is new here - new roof, new cedar, new insulation, and a new upgraded septic system to cater for a bigger house. With wide verandas, a superb pitched roof entertaining area out the back, a 50sqm (approx) concrete floor powered workshop at the end of the drive, full pet friendly fencing with a gate out to the reserve behind and a circular driveway, this has everything a good hills home needs!

The kitchen was done as a country/diner style, there is room for a formal table, some breakfast bar chairs and has a fabulous freestanding cooker with a dishwasher, ample cupboards and a functional pantry.

The living area has SUPERB newly sanded Wandoo floors that have a Satin finish and there is wood heating , which warms the whole home at this time of year. This in fact is the owners favourite thing and I can see why - they are beautiful. In summer, there are ceiling fans, and the shade of the trees to keep you cool. In all the years living there, air con was never a requirement here.

The bedrooms are BIG - there are 3 or even 4 - but the 4th is currently decked out as a massive parents WIR but it could be a study or a nursery too.

This wonderful property with its fertile soil is home to established trees and fruit trees. It has a parkland cleared style feel to it - there are some wonderful big gums here. You can walk the 200 odd metres to the back gate and keep on going into the reserve - it feels HUGE as a result.

The location is quiet but you can hop on a bus around the corner, you are close to pubs, schools and shops and the neighbours of course are all fabulous...this is the Hills!

Mahogany Creek overview

This suburb takes its name from Mahogany Creek, a picturesque tributary of Jane Brook which flows through the area. The creek was known by this name as early as 1830, and takes its name from the towering forest through which it flowed (mahogany was the early colonial name for Jarrah). This place is well known from "The Old Mahogany Inn" located here, an early colonial wayside inn, formerly known as the "Prince of Wales" Inn. The area was developed as orchard land in the 1890's, and a railway stopping place was established here in 1891.
