This lovely home has been beautifully renovated and extended to create a peaceful hideaway in a leafy location close to the river.
Thelma Street is a cul-de-sac which is close to the river and not far from the centre of town. The original ground floor section of the home is constructed using brick and incorporates an entry hall, three bedrooms and the kitchen dining area which leads out to a large protected deck area that is part of the new extension. The original home has been extensively, and tastefully, renovated and is very appealing.
There are three bedrooms, one bathroom and one toilet downstairs. The master bedroom with walk in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom is situated upstairs along with a sitting room and what is virtually a private deck. While there are views of the river from the downstairs kitchen, living area and deck, the river views are very good from the top level of the home.
Given the way this home is designed you could easily have two families living here. It would be as easy as putting in another lock on one door to provide separate entry to the upstairs section down the north side of the home.
There is plenty to talk about outside too. The home has a solar voltaic energy system supplying solar electricity for the home. The system has been pre-wired for the installation of batteries if required later on. The home has two electric hot water systems that can take advantage of the low cost power generated from the roof. There is a reverse cycle air conditioner to warm the living area and there are gas bayonet outlets for a portable gas heater.
The back yard is fully enclosed to protect the younger members of your family as well as the pets. There is plenty of parking room alongside the home with a 6m x 6m high roof carport in front of a 6m x6m lock up shed with concrete floor and electricity connected. There is quite a bit of additional storage space below the deck, ideal for canoes and bikes.
The home is situated in a cul-de-sac which will reduce the amount of passing traffic. The home has been tastefully decorated and will appeal to many people. Please come in and make an appointment to view this lovely home. You won’t be disappointed.

The most south westerly town in the state, Augusta was named by Gov. Sir James Stirling in May 1830. Until 2003 it was thought the name honoured Princess Augusta Sophia, second daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 2003 the book "James Stirling - Admiral and Founding Governor of Western Australia" a letter by James Turner is referred to which states "a town is purposed to be built named Augusta, County of Sussex, in compliment to the Duke". Princess Augusta Sophia died unmarried, and the "Duke" is most likely the Duke of Sussex, Augustus Frederick (Hanover), the 6th son of George III. He married Lady Augusta Murray in 1793, but the marriage was deemed a violation of the Royal Marriage Act, and was declared null and void in 1794. Lady Augusta Murray is most likely the person after whom Augusta is named.
Augusta is a town on the south west coast of WA and was predominately a tourist town up until the late 1990s when many people chose to retired to the region. The town is known for its major attractions such as Cape Leeuwin "where two oceans meet" and its impressive lighthouse. Augusta is dependent on professional fishing, timber and tourism. There is a local shopping centre in the area and two primary schools - Augusta Primary School and Karridale Primary School, with the closest secondary school Margaret River Senior High School.
