This renovated circa 1912 Federation cottage on its full 557sqm R40 block with double garage, workshop and sealed ROW at the rear will have inner city lifestyle & character home devotees weak at the knees!

From its superb street appeal to its warm polished boards, high ornate ceilings, light, bright, full height extension and lush green lawns and bore reticulated gardens, there’s so much to love about this move-in ready residence with future options.

The spacious and practical floorplan provides three generously proportioned bedrooms, one with a feature fireplace, plus formal lounge and open plan kitchen, dining, living area off which you’ll find an oversized laundry (future ensuite/Bath 2?), family bathroom with separate bath & shower, WC and good sized study nook with views to the backyard - perfect for those working from home and wanting to retain all their accommodation options.

The kitchen includes quality stone benchtops and appliances, practical storage, wide fridge recess and is open to the rear dining/living space with direct aspect to the rear alfresco entertaining area and gardens so you can easily keep an eye out when entertaining family and friends whilst being part of the conversation and festivities.

Accessed from a sealed ROW it’s one of the most practical additions I’ve seen on a home in years (and one of the most rare) plus there’s off street parking at the front too.

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
