What we love
They say that bigger is indeed better – and this magnificent 5 bedroom 2.5 bathroom middle townhouse residence is no exception, perfectly positioned in a quality group of just three properties and allowing you to experience the most functional, flexible and comfortable of low-maintenance “lock-up-and-leave” lifestyles in the process. The wildcard in the floor plan sits downstairs, with what is essentially a fifth bedroom with its own walk-in wardrobe off the entry – also working well as either a study or proper home office, by the front door. It precedes a spacious and impeccably-tiled open-plan family, dining and kitchen area with floating custom media cabinetry, a gas bayonet for heating, sparkling stone bench tops, double sinks, glass splashbacks, a walk-in pantry, a breakfast bar for quick bites, a new Siemens dishwasher, a new Haier fridge/freezer combination and modern Westinghouse range-hood, gas-cooktop and oven appliances.

Also on the ground floor are a large separate theatre room, a fully-tiled powder room with a sleek stone vanity, a fully-tiled laundry with stone bench tops, a sliding-door linen cupboard, heaps of extra storage and external/side access for drying and a fabulous outdoor alfresco-entertaining area off the main living zone – timber-lined ceiling, shade blinds for full enclosure and protection from the elements and a splendid sense of privacy that accompanies the obvious tranquillity surrounding you. Upstairs, a massive lounge room doubles as the perfect retreat or third living space, servicing the main sleeping quarters. The pick of the bedrooms up here is definitely a super-sized master suite, where a fitted double-door walk-in robe neighbours a sumptuous fully-tiled ensuite bathroom with a shower, separate bathtub, a separate fully-tiled toilet and twin “his and hers” dark-stone vanities. Highly impressive in every sense of the term.

What to know
Huge second and third upstairs bedrooms have their own fitted walk-in robes, as well as shared semi-ensuite access into a large fully-tiled main bathroom with a shower, separate bathtub and stone vanity. The second bedroom enjoys views to the hills and Perth city too, whilst a separate fourth bedroom also has a fitted walk-in robe for good measure. A second fully-tiled powder room and a walk-in linen press only inches away help complete the upper-level features.

Extras include a lined double-door entry portico, carpets in all of the bedrooms and the theatre room, ducted and zoned reverse-cycle air-conditioning, a new Ring A/V intercom doorbell, gleaming wooden floorboards, down lights, a ducted-vacuum system, stepped “trio” ceiling cornices, skirting boards, a gas hot-water system, reticulated gardens, a large remote-controlled double lock-up garage (with internal shopper’s entry, a side-access door and a lock-up under-stair storeroom), two side-access gates to the rear and newly-laid backyard lawn. The nearest bus stop and dog park are both just a short stroll away, with several schools, shopping at Dog Swamp, Flinders Square and The Mezz in Mount Hawthorn, lush local parks, community sporting facilities, golf courses, cafes, restaurants, the freeway, the coast, the city itself and the surrounding entertainment hotspots of Mount Lawley, North Perth, Leederville, Subiaco and Northbridge all merely a matter of minutes from your doorstep in their own right. Why compromise on comfort or convenience, when you can have both?!

Joondanna overview

The first of the northern suburbs which were born in the post War period of the 1940s was Joondanna. Originally named Joondanna Heights, Joondanna was chosen after the Perth Road Board launched a competition to find a suitable name in 1939. The competition was won by Mrs A Curtis of Donnybrook who suggested Joondanna as this was the name given by a Mr. Banks to his property. He is believed to have been the first settler and owner of land in the area.
