At first glance the charm of this property is warmly welcoming with a granite fence, wrought iron gates and a pretty façade. Spend sunny autumn mornings on the north facing front porch looking over to a reserve and the fabulous and much loved Sculpture Park full of kids and their happy play.

On stepping through the gorgeous, leadlight, vintage door this adorable cottage reveals high ceilings, wooden floorboards and wainscoting. Off the entrance hall to the left is the master bedroom featuring an on trend wooden wall. In the afternoon, this wall gives the room a warm, golden glow as the sun streams through the original leadlight windows. To the right is the second bedroom complete with fireplace, jarrah floors and matching leadlight windows. This room could also be used as a second living area.

Down the hallway a sweet pink and white family bathroom is revealed as well as the third bedroom. This bedroom is a good size, with the beautiful wooden floors, high ceilings and a gorgeous lampshade reminiscent of a bygone era..

To the back of the home is the open plan kitchen, living and dining. Overlooking the lush green back garden the windows bring the outside in revealing well established trees and a sense of fun and frivolity to be enjoyed. The kitchen features a modern stove as well as the original solid fuel stove, Warren No 1, which is still in use today. Imagine soup and scones cooking and the fire warming the cottage on a cold winters weekend. In the back corner of this cottage you will find a storeroom and the laundry.

This block is large for the village of Mundaring. As you meander through the different aspects of the garden from the paved alfresco area through to the vegetable patches, chicken coop to the grassed picnic area and on to the secret garden where children can indulge in imaginative play with the fabulous cubby or enjoy the extra space for more fruit trees or perhaps even an art studio or another shed could be built (STSA).

A feature of the garden is the historical granite workshop, it is large and adds to the vintage charm of this property. A few granite buildings are dotted through Mundaring, this property is lucky enough to have one and quite possibly the granite is from the quarry on Coppin Road.

One of the highlights of this property is its village location. Shops, services, school and public transport are all very close and an easy walking distance. Never having to worry about parking for community events in the park, walk across the road to enjoy the Artisan Markets, weekend markets, Carols by Candlelight and Twilight Markets. Within Scultpture Park you will also find the heritage trail which many like to walk, hike or mountain bike. This trail forms a 41 km loop passing fabulous cafes, pubs and of course the amazing natural environment that makes up the hills experience. Come and live in the village of Mundaring and experience the magic of hills living.

Mundaring overview

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
