Unique Hills Beauty - Available for Private Viewings

This beautiful architecturally designed home might just be the Hills' best kept secret! Located within the leafy serenity of Boya, nestled between Darlington and Helena Valley, and overlooking Greenmount National Park. The unassuming facade conceals a geometric marriage of textures - local granite, glass, and Blackbutt timber. This Lynthorne Matthews home is skilfully designed across a multi-level layout, showcasing cathedral ceilings and spectacular views from all directions.

The large primary bedroom is strategically tucked away from the children's zone and offers a glorious outlook, a walk-in wardrobe, and a gorgeous ensuite with Italian tiles and spa bath. Three good-sized secondary bedrooms are all carpeted and equipped with evaporative air conditioning. There's a large separate study upstairs, plus an activity/games/music room, that could easily be transformed into a fifth bedroom, and both cooled and heated by inverter air conditioning.

The formal lounge boasts a huge stone fireplace. Imagine cool winter nights spent here cosied up together enjoying the slow combustion wood burner, reading a book and enjoying a glass of wine. The dining area takes your breath away, with massive feature windows with treetop views.

The abundance of this magnificent place makes it easy to forget you're living just a short drive away from everything a family needs to enjoy a convenient, connected lifestyle. Boya overview

To supply the stone required to build the groynes at Fremantle Harbour, a Government quarry was established in the hills a little south-west of Darlington. A spur line was run into the quarry from the existing railway and, by July 1901, dozens of iron and hessian huts housing approximately 150 workmen were clustered near the site. In August of 1901, construction began on a railway siding for the use of this settlement and the first name proposed was "Yan-Yeen". This was rejected because of a duplication in Victoria and the Aboriginal word "Boya", appropriately meaning rock/stone, was chosen instead. It was later found that the correct Aboriginal name for the area was "Nyeedoup" but Boya remains appropriate as the Aboriginal sub-tribe who once inhabited the hills were known as "Boya-Ngoora".
