"Little River Orchids"

On the banks of the Little River and with the Bibbulmun Track & Wilson Inlet nearby, lies this very private property. The double brick home has a beautiful outlook towards the river, and has seen recent renovations which have opened the main living areas up making it the perfect family home. The main wing of the house consists of the open plan living/dining/kitchen (brand new appliances) area - complete with wood heating, three good sized bedrooms, as well as the laundry and an updated bathroom. In addition is a separate wing comprising of a bedroom and bathroom, and a spacious living area with a kitchenette. This end of the home lends itself to either a granny flat or teenagers retreat, or of course an easy care holiday let. Parking is available for two vehicles via one carport under the main roof, as well as another single carport. The block consists of 2320sqm, with vegetable gardens, a huge Avo tree and some younger fruit trees, a chook pen, and a shed complete with workbenches. Town is 5km away, and Ocean Beach 3km, with a sealed bike/walking path to both! Please give Andrew a call on 0409081075 for further details.

Denmark overview

The townsite of Denmark, located on the south coast 51 kilometres west of Albany, was gazetted a townsite in 1909. It is located on the Denmark River from which it derives its name, the river having been named by the explorer Dr J B Wilson RN in December 1829. Wilson named it the "Denmark" in compliment to his friend Dr. Alexander Denmark R.N. a physician to the fleet. The Aboriginal name "Koorrabup", recorded by Alfred Hillman in 1833, also refers to this area.

Although a townsite was not declared here until 1909, a settlement of this name had existed here for some years previous. A Millars Bros. Timber mill was established on the banks of the river in 1894.
