Ideal for holidays

This home is well suited to a family holiday destination with plenty of accommodation, stacks of parking room for cars, boats and toys and s located at the ocean end of town. It is not very far to the beach at Flinders Bay or to the boat ramp.

Conversely, this home would be a good permanent home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, a separate lounge/dining room plus an open kitchen/living area. Leading off the living area is a south facing conservatory room that has been enclosed with clear café curtains that can be rolled up in warm weather.

There is a double carport under the main roof with an outside room built off the carport. That room has a range of potential uses such as a sleep out, games room or lock up storage.

The home has been built using a framed wall construction method with hardiplank exterior cladding and Gyproc interior. The roof is colourbond.

The block is 1113sqm in area. A beauty. There is a driveway down the south side leading to an approx. 5m x 7m fibro shed with an iron roof and a fish cleaning bench. Alongside that shed is another colourbond shed approx. 6m x 7m and a garden shed for wood storage.

The gardens and lawns are well established and are pretty low maintenance with a vege area and fruit trees behind the sheds.

Augusta overview

The most south westerly town in the state, Augusta was named by Gov. Sir James Stirling in May 1830. Until 2003 it was thought the name honoured Princess Augusta Sophia, second daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 2003 the book "James Stirling - Admiral and Founding Governor of Western Australia" a letter by James Turner is referred to which states "a town is purposed to be built named Augusta, County of Sussex, in compliment to the Duke". Princess Augusta Sophia died unmarried, and the "Duke" is most likely the Duke of Sussex, Augustus Frederick (Hanover), the 6th son of George III. He married Lady Augusta Murray in 1793, but the marriage was deemed a violation of the Royal Marriage Act, and was declared null and void in 1794. Lady Augusta Murray is most likely the person after whom Augusta is named.
