THE PERFECT HOLIDAY LOCATION

Here is an opportunity to purchase a holiday home in one of the best locations in Guilderton.
You won't need to drive anywhere once you are here, as it's only 450 metres to the clean white beach and beautiful Moore River estuary, via the gazebo lookout. It is directly across the road from Gabbadah Park, with natural bushland, shady lawns and a kids' playground. Also within walking distance are the soon to be refurbished general store / café on the foreshore and the Guilderton Country Club, which offers lawn bowls, golf and foot golf. Despite being close to everything, it is in a quiet street with very little passing traffic.
The home is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom classic beach house on a 1,086 square metre block with ocean and river views that can't be built out. It features a spacious kitchen, cosy living room and dining with ocean views. The 4 bedrooms can accommodate 10 people and there are two bathrooms to cater for large groups. You can watch the sunset from the front patio, while the back patio is a nice, sheltered place for a barbecue. The lawn is fully reticulated from a bore and you can store your dinghy, kayaks and fishing gear in the large secure garage.
This property offers excellent potential for future development, as a 2-storey home would provide a stunning view of the river and beach. It has also been rented for short-stay accommodation for many years, providing a good bonus income. It is being offered walk-in, walk-out, including all furniture and chattels.
This property has given the current owners 25 years of fun family holidays. Now it's your turn!

Guilderton overview

The townsite of Guilderton is located on the coast at the mouth of the Moore River, 94 kilometres north of Perth. It was gazetted a townsite in 1951, but has been used as a camping and holiday place since around 1905 when residents of Gingin petitioned the Lands Department for the creation of a road to the place and a camping reserve. A reserve for a picnic ground was declared in 1907, and the area soon became popular for camping and picnicking In the 1940s public demand for permanent camping sites led to the government deciding to declare a townsite, and seeking a name for the area, which up until then had been locally referred to as "Moore River".

A number of names were considered, the preferred name of "Guilderton" being suggested by Mrs Henrietta Drake-Brockman. The name links the town with the wreck of the Dutch ship "Gilt Dragon" near here in 1656, and the loss of thousands of Guilders it was carrying. Dutch coins and relics of the wreck have been found near the mouth of the Moore River.
