Me - Where does the poo go?
Question Asker - (Relieved they didn't have to say it) Yes
Me - It's serviced by a septic tank system. These have been around for many years, it's not super common in a suburban area but if sewer's not available this is what goes on. They normally require emptying every four of five years and it costs about $900. It's not some guy with a ladle and a bucket, it's a truck with a big sucker upper thing, everything they slurp up goes into a tank on the truck and they drive away with it. All your hard work, gone. The good thing is that the Water Corporation service rates are reduced significantly because of this. It's $275 this year, and most places are about $1100 per year. If you had to do it every two years you'd still be in front; I'll flush to that!
