STONE COTTAGE ON 2.5 ACRES

Step back in time with this well presented and maintained character cottage built in 1956 in local stone - granite and coffee rock, and be captivated by its generosity as revealed in the height of the ceilings, the polished timber flooring and the spacious room proportions.

Simple in design and mostly original the house feels as solid as a rock. Offering three decent sized bedrooms, one with a sleepout / small sitting area / office attached and all with robes; a large lounge for relaxing and a roomy kitchen / meals area; bathroom and huge laundry with separate WC plus an under-croft garage and storage area. Plus a ducted reverse cycle air conditioning system for heating and cooling.

The house has been re-wired, the plumbing updated and the roof re-pointed in recent years. However, there is huge potential to value add by updating the kitchen, bathroom and laundry areas.

Outside is an old rustic shed offering some protection from the elements.

There is also a rather unique swimming pool within a granite block formwork and retaining wall. Some work may be required to return it to its glory days.

All this set upon a fabulous, level and mostly cleared 2.5 acre block with a granite block fence to the front and a picturesque fenced paddock. Located in a sought after area opposite the heritage walk / riding trails.

Just minutes to Mundaring Village and close to Midland and the airport.

Please note the property is leased until 20 October 2022.

Inspection by appointment only.

Mundaring overview

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
