The Self Sufficiency Dream

Absolutely gorgeous 7 plus acres with everything you need for that self-sufficient lifestyle that you have been long desiring. The 3x2 home was originally a tired timber cottage in which has recently gone through a complete renovation transformation from the inside out offering the lovely place to live that is on offer today. Modern kitchen, two slow combustion fireplace which you can cook with, new bathrooms plus much more! Outside the sheltered position and heavy Karri loams provide the best possible growing environment for all the horticultural pursuits currently undertaken on the property. Add to this endless irrigated water in the lower dam and the huge rainwater holding of over 250,000 litres then you truly have your own self sufficiency food bowl. Run a few sheep, alpca’s or goats in the pastures is also an option here. A cute little self-standing studio is definitely a bonus as well as the large workshop/garage. The sellers have recently undertaken clearing and firebreaks for safety. Completing the package you are very close to the Kent River for some kayak fishing and of course some of the best beaches in the region. Call Brett Today 0439100439.

Denmark overview

The townsite of Denmark, located on the south coast 51 kilometres west of Albany, was gazetted a townsite in 1909. It is located on the Denmark River from which it derives its name, the river having been named by the explorer Dr J B Wilson RN in December 1829. Wilson named it the "Denmark" in compliment to his friend Dr. Alexander Denmark R.N. a physician to the fleet. The Aboriginal name "Koorrabup", recorded by Alfred Hillman in 1833, also refers to this area.

Although a townsite was not declared here until 1909, a settlement of this name had existed here for some years previous. A Millars Bros. Timber mill was established on the banks of the river in 1894.
