Development Site - Retain & Build money maker! SELLER LOOKING FOR OFFERS!

Some homes seduce you from the moment you arrive. While other properties require some imagination and TLC, like this three-bedroom, one-bathroom home in the heart of Maylands.

Built in 1955, this solid Californian bungalow is a rare find for character lovers and the bones are all there from the spacious rooms and high and ornate ceilings. Renovators won't be able to resist bringing this character home back to its former glory. Given the flexible floor plan, there's loads of potential to reconfigure the layout or extend it to suit your needs while catering to modern living. For example, you could easily convert the formal dining room into a bedroom and create a meals area in the spacious kitchen.

On the other hand, developers will have their eye on the prize - this 669sqm block is ideal for building your dream property on or subdividing. There's so much potential here with the option to subdivide the rear into a 250sqm lot and retain the original house on a 319sqm block. As it stands, this home features a welcoming foyer, formal lounge, formal dining, retro bathroom, spacious kitchen, covered front and rear porches and a huge backyard.

Investors will see dollar signs and the rental potential given Perth's current market, especially this close to Perth's CBD.

You're only as limited as your imagination.

You're across the street from the Garden Café and it's just a stroll to Pizzeria Amore Mio, Coles, IGA, The Rise, bus routes, Maylands Train Station and the Maylands tourist precinct. You're a short distance from a range of attractions like Perth's CBD, the Swan River, Ascot Racecourse, Maylands Yacht Club and Maylands Penninsula Public Golf Course. Students will appreciate the short commute to Edith Cowan University, as will FIFO workers to the airport.

This won't remain on the market for long. So don't hesitate to contact John Caputo on 0433 158 384 to arrange a viewing today.

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
