Old Soul, New Energy.

Over a hundred years of history, beautifully reimagined. This circa 1915 Maylands cottage has been transformed into a breathtaking two-level designer home, where the romance of character meets the confidence of contemporary architecture.

From the street, it’s love at first sight. A timeless facade framed by a private fence, stained glass around the front door, and that unmistakable early 1900s charm - all perfectly balanced by the bold, charcoal-clad addition that rises above. It’s the best of both worlds: character that captures the heart, and architecture that turns heads.

Step inside and the feeling continues - lofty ceilings, warm engineered oak flooring, and black accents that tie it all together with effortless style. The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge is the soul of the home; light-filled, elegant, and ready for entertaining. The kitchen itself is a showstopper, with stone benchtops, a statement island breakfast bar, dual Siemens pyrolytic ovens, a 900mm Bosch cooktop and integrated dishwasher. Even the finer touches - feature shelving, plumbed fridge recess, coffee making station, and pull-out sink tap - speak to the attention to detail here for style and practicality.

Open the doors and you’re outdoors - in a courtyard with recycled brickwork and lush, low-maintenance gardens. It’s the perfect city retreat: private, peaceful, and made for long lunches with friends.

Downstairs also features a gorgeous main bathroom with a freestanding bath, rainfall shower and matte black tapware, plus a third bedroom (ideal for guests, home office or secondary living area), and a sleek laundry with stone tops, built-in cabinetry, clothes rail and direct shoppers’ access from the carport.

Up the stunning floating staircase, you’ll find two bedrooms - calm, cosy, and bathed in natural light. The main suite is a true sanctuary, with a large walk-in robe and a luxurious ensuite featuring twin vanities and twin rainfall showers. There's even views to the City!

Every detail has been carefully curated - from the statement lighting and plantation shutters to the layering of textures and tones that make this home feel both sophisticated and inviting.

All of this, right in the beating heart of Maylands - surrounded by great coffee, small bars and eateries, the Swan river and the City just minutes away. It’s architectural, it’s soulful, and it’s the kind of home that simply feels right.

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
