Set upon 1300sqm on Weedon Hill, this two bedroom home has been transformed by the current owner into the ultimate South Coastal bolt-hole. Sitting on the large elevated undercover deck, you're among stunning Karri trees here - a setting that so many holiday makers have come to Denmark for and fallen in love with. The home enjoys wood fired heating for those wild and wooly winters, with a bedroom at each of the home. The main bedroom has access out onto the deck, as well as study or office space and a walk in robe. The kitchen and dining room has a couple of skylights to let in extra sunlight, and a walk in pantry is ready to stock up.
A couple of sheds provide vehicle storage space, while the area below the home has been sealed to create lockable storage and workshop space. This property makes the perfect holiday getaway, or ideal home for those wanting to enjoy the leafy lifestyle under the Karri of Weedon Hill. The townsite of Denmark, located on the south coast 51 kilometres west of Albany, was gazetted a townsite in 1909. It is located on the Denmark River from which it derives its name, the river having been named by the explorer Dr J B Wilson RN in December 1829. Wilson named it the "Denmark" in compliment to his friend Dr. Alexander Denmark R.N. a physician to the fleet. The Aboriginal name "Koorrabup", recorded by Alfred Hillman in 1833, also refers to this area.
Although a townsite was not declared here until 1909, a settlement of this name had existed here for some years previous. A Millars Bros. Timber mill was established on the banks of the river in 1894.
