Boaties Dream!

When the boat is the most important asset to look after but you still need to keep everyone else in the family happy it often requires a lot of ingenuity. Firstly, you need to find a solid comfortable house large enough for family requirements and then figure out how you can adopt or alter the toy shed for your second love, the boat! Seems a challenge but it is all possible as the owner of this home has proven. The boat may have gone and been replaced with a caravan but the toy shed suits either being 13m long and 6m wide. The home is large and comfortable with two living areas at either end of the house and a central kitchen family area featuring loads of timber and a fabulous slow combustion wood heater. There is excellent separation of the main bedroom complete with ensuite from the other three bedrooms and bathroom. Off the large laundry there is a huge walk in linen storage room, broom cupboard and a separate toilet. At the rear of the house is a 90,000 litre rainwater tank which is plumbed in to the house. The property is fully fenced and has easycare landscaping allowing a good lock up and leave option. This home is well worth an inspection so make an appointment today.

Augusta overview

The most south westerly town in the state, Augusta was named by Gov. Sir James Stirling in May 1830. Until 2003 it was thought the name honoured Princess Augusta Sophia, second daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 2003 the book "James Stirling - Admiral and Founding Governor of Western Australia" a letter by James Turner is referred to which states "a town is purposed to be built named Augusta, County of Sussex, in compliment to the Duke". Princess Augusta Sophia died unmarried, and the "Duke" is most likely the Duke of Sussex, Augustus Frederick (Hanover), the 6th son of George III. He married Lady Augusta Murray in 1793, but the marriage was deemed a violation of the Royal Marriage Act, and was declared null and void in 1794. Lady Augusta Murray is most likely the person after whom Augusta is named.
